Richard W. Berlinger
Admitted to the Bar in 1968, Mr. Berlinger represents individuals, corporations and commercial clients.
He devotes a substantial portion of his practice to family law, including pre and post marital and separation agreements, property settlement agreements, divorce, custody, spousal and child support, alimony, and distribution of property due to divorce.
Mr. Berlinger served on the Abington Township Zoning Board and advises clients on zoning and land use development matters ranging from single family residential units to large tract development for projects as varied as short-line railroad operations, age restricted housing and continuous care facilities. He also assists both individual and corporate clients regarding the purchase and sale of both improved and unimproved real estate, including storm water, steep slope and environmental issues. He litigates these, personal injury and commercial matters in state and federal courts.
Mr. Berlinger is an active member of the Montgomery Bar Association, serving as a Director and Chair of the Bylaws Committee, Bench Bar Committee, the Judiciary Committee, and several special committees appointed by the President of the Bar Association. He is a member of the Montgomery County Trial Lawyers Section, Past President, and of the Family Law Section, and provides volunteer pro bono legal services for Montgomery County Legal Aid, and children at risk through the Montgomery Child Advocacy Program (MCAP). He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Bylaws Committee and is Vice Chair of the Senior Lawyers Section.
In representing clients – whether individuals or businesses – he strives to thoroughly know and understand the client to give the best possible counsel and advice appropriate to the client’s particular circumstances. He believes litigation should be a last resort.
